"Ever since I (Ted Ligety) was young, I’ve been a free thinker and very independent in everything I do. Last year I, as many of you know, skied with pink and neon green goggles. An idea that was spurred from, in my mind by the monotony in ski racing and the style revolving it. I’ve always believed ski racing needs to be marketed in the same genre as “action” sports. I mean we’re going 100mph at times, catching huge air and making tighter radius turns then anyone thought was possible, so why should our sport be marketed by old men in suits who don’t want the sport to evolve. Shred Goggles is my statement to the sport of skiing and the world that ski racing is cool. So I wanted to make goggles that were styled totally different that anything out there. That’s why I’ve designed goggles that are edgy and represent our sport beyond its conformity."
